Charlotte County homeowners impacted by Hurricane Ian can now access Rebuild Florida’s resources locally. Rebuild Florida is dedicated to long-term disaster recovery, aiming to rebuild communities stronger and more resilient against future storms. The Housing Repair and Replacement Program (HRRP) for Hurricane Ian focuses on supporting low-to-moderate income families, particularly those with seniors over age 62, children, and disabled household members.
Applications for Hurricane Ian home repairs, rebuilding, and replacements are now open, including for mobile homes. Homeowners can apply in two ways:

- In Person - Visit the Charlotte County Rebuild Florida Center at 1032 Tamiami Trail Suite 4, Port Charlotte, FL 33953. The center is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, and on Saturdays (through May) from 8 AM to 1 PM.

COAD Assistance: Accepting Applications Through July 31, 2024
The Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) is still providing hurricane relief assistance. If you have unmet needs from Hurricanes Ian or Idalia and meet the eligibility criteria, resources and assistance are available. COAD offers referrals for financial assistance, repair assistance, or case management to aid in recovery from storm damage.
Priority is given to low-income households, those displaced from their homes, seniors age 60+, minors under age 18, and household members with disabilities.
As we approach the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Ian, the Long-Term Recovery Department will conclude operations at the end of September. Applications for assistance will only be accepted until Wednesday, July 31st, to allow processing time for final submissions.
