We are proud to feature Jillian Hollingsworth as this issue’s Shining Star, celebrating her outstanding contributions and unwavering dedication to the Charlotte County community.
Born in New York and relocating to Port Charlotte with her family in 1994, Jillian is deeply rooted in our community. She graduated from Port Charlotte High School in 2004, followed by pursuing her bachelor’s degree in criminology at both the University of Florida and the University of South Florida.
Upon completing her education, Jillian returned to Charlotte County, where she dedicated several years to working in child welfare. It was in 2021 when we first had the privilege of meeting Jillian as she began her impactful journey at the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition. A certified Bridges Out of Poverty facilitator, Jillian, has made quite a mark with her expertise and compassionate approach to preventing and ending homelessness in Charlotte County.
Currently serving as the Homeless Prevention Coordinator, Jillian oversees critical programs such as Rapid Re-Housing (RRH), Recovery Housing, Homeless Prevention/Financial Assistance, and Bridges. Her colleagues speak highly of her calm demeanor and ability to navigate stressful situations, making her an invaluable asset to the team. They describe her as a team player who is always ready to support for the betterment of the clients and services provided. Jillian's dedication to teaching her staff best practices and empowering them to grow is truly commendable. She embodies the mission of the Homeless Coalition with a heart full of compassion for the homeless.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jillian is a devoted mother of three who finds joy in spending time with her husband and children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, shopping, and indulging in a bit of reality TV. Jillian's passion for community involvement and service to others drives her to provide the best support to Charlotte County's most vulnerable individuals and families.
