Jocey Henderson

In the spotlight this month is the remarkable Jocene "Jocey" Henderson, a beacon of dedication and service to Veterans in our community and beyond.

Jocey, a retired Sergeant Major (E-9) from the United States Army, has an illustrious military background, having served as the Chief of Division Personnel/Sergeant Major of Deploying Troops to Iraq. Her commitment to duty and leadership were evident throughout her military career, earning her the respect and admiration of her peers.

Currently, Jocey serves as the Manager of Charlotte County Veteran Services, where she continues to embody the spirit of service by ensuring that Veterans in our community receive the support and assistance they deserve.

Not confining her impact to Charlotte County, Jocey holds the position of Vice President of the Charlotte County Veterans Officers Association of Florida, South Region. In this role she collaborates with Sarasota, Lee, Collier, Monroe, Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Martin, Glades and Hendry counties, tirelessly advocating for the needs of Veterans and championing their causes.

Jocey's commitment extends to her role as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Douglas T. Jacobsen State Veteran's Nursing Home Residents Fund. Her advocacy ensures that Veterans residing in the nursing home receive the care, respect, and support they richly deserve.

Moreover, Jocey's past role as President of Operation ECO Vets at Green Path Veterans Farm demonstrates her hands-on approach to addressing Veterans' challenges, actively contributing to programs that make a tangible difference.

In every facet of her extensive involvement, Jocey stands out as an incredible advocate for Veterans. Her work has not only left an indelible mark on our community but has also resonated throughout the state of Florida. The impact of her dedication is immeasurable, and we are privileged to have her as a Shining Star in our community.
