I just want to take a moment to say thank you to all of the great volunteers who came out and participated in the Gulf Coast Partnership’s 2018 Point In Time Count and made it a complete success! The count is an extremely important tool in preventing and ending homelessness in Charlotte County and without our volunteers, we could not of made it happen.
I also want to thank our community enforcement officers who escorted the teams throughout the county and allowed the count to be conducted so smoothly due to their dedication and relationship building with the potential survey takers.
Survey results will be posted shortly. We will be tabulating the data over the next few weeks and getting our reports ready to submit to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. At first blush, it appears that our unsheltered homeless numbers are down from last year. I will keep everyone posted as we finalize our numbers.
