Housing is a critical component to securing other resources for those families and individuals in need of stability. Unfortunately, today in Southwest Florida we do not have an adequate supply of housing that is affordable to the homeless and extremely low-income populations. We as a community must be creative and consider innovative solutions.

In Charlotte County today there is no shelter or emergency housing option for unaccompanied runaway or homeless youth. Youth from Charlotte County must either go to Sarasota or Lee County in order to find housing. We will pursue partnerships and housing options for youth and family services to address the needs of homeless youth in all of Southwest Florida.
