The 2018 Point In Time (PIT) Count is the annual count of homeless persons in Charlotte County. This count is done in order to help inform federal, state, and local governments on the current state of homelessness and directly influences the amount of funding allocated to prevent and end homelessness in our community.

We need volunteers to help us survey homeless persons where they live. All teams will be escorted by local law enforcement.

Becoming a PIT Count volunteer will only require your participation on two dates:

  • January 3, 2018 @ 9am-Noon – PIT Count Training at the Charlotte County Community Foundation
  • January 25, 2018 @ 6am-10am – Meet at Gulf Coast Partnership above the historic Icehouse in downtown Punta Gorda (408 Tamiami Trail, Unit 121, Punta Gorda, FL 33950) and then go out in teams in order to conduct the count at dawn.
