2018 PIT Count Last Call for Volunteers, Donations, and Supplies

In the coming days we will be conducting surveys of homeless persons in Charlotte County in order to secure funding from federal, state, and local partners. This process is called the Point In Time (PIT) Count.

We currently need three things:

 

  1. Volunteers – We need volunteers to conduct the surveys for the PIT Count. Contact Gaither Stephens at 941-626-0220 x3 for more information.
    o Volunteers must attend a PIT Training in order to conduct surveys. The next PIT Training is January 23rd from 9AM to Noon at the Charlotte Community Foundation in Punta Gorda.
    o Volunteers will meet on January 25th at the Gulf Coast Partnership (Above the Icehouse in Punta Gorda) at 6AM and go out into the community to conduct the count.
  2. Donations/Incentives – We need donations/incentives to take out into the woods and places where the homeless are staying. Please drop off donations/incentives at the Gulf Coast Partnership Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm or the morning of the count.
    o Toiletries
    o Socks
    o Gift Cards
  3. Supplies – We need supplies in order to conduct the count.
    o Clipboards
    o Pens
